Hi my name is Peanut and I am a 1 year old Yorkshire Terrier. Let me tell you a little about myself, I am a sweet boy who would make a great lap dog. I love attention and I need to be in a home that will shower me with love. Please come adopt me today!

Hi my name is Andrew and I am a 9 week old Schnauzer Mix. I came in as a stray so not much is known about me except that I am a sweet little boy who would make a great companion. I have been told I am a good listener; so if you are looking for a good looking guy who listens look no further. Come adopt me today.

Hi my name is Chester and I am a 2 month old Dachshund mix. I am a really playful boy that would make a great new friend. I am the greatest dog ever. OK so I may exaggerate a tiny bit. Please come check me out, I am ready to go home with you!

We will be up for adoption from May 5 - May 9.

The Houston Humane Society (HHS) is a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to eliminating cruelty, abuse, and the overpopulation of animals. We receive no federal, state, or local funding and rely solely on donations and special events. HHS is committed to creating the awareness of animal rights throughout the Houston community by providing numerous animal welfare programs for Houston area residents and their pets, including pet adoptions, humane education, R.A.I.D.E.R. cruelty investigations, and Houston’s only $30 spay and neuter clinic.

With your help we can reduce animal suffering throughout the Houston area.  Adoption, volunteering, education, participating in our special events, or making a donation to help support our programs, are all ways you can help HHS make a difference in lives of abused, homeless, and neglected animals.

On our website you will find information on all of our wonderful programs, tips, and other resources to help you and your pet live a long and healthy life together!

Houston Humane Society has earned Charity Navigator's fourth consecutive 4-star rating for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances.  Only 4% of the charities have received at least 4 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that HHS outperforms most charities in America in its efforts to operate in the most fiscally responsible way possible.  This "exceptional" designation from Charity Navigator differentiates HHS from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.
