Upon arrival, the Houston Humane Society medical team had estimated Betty White to be an elderly dog due to her appearance, with feces and urine in her tail, matted fur, and severe malnourishment. It was only when she was fully examined that her teeth showed her to be just one year old.

Betty suffers from heartworms and has started treatment at the Houston Humane Society Clinic, already on her way to being heartworm-free!

The pup now nearly unrecognizable, is already so loved and adored by her new family, who shared on their application that they recently had lost their beloved 14-year-old pup in September, leaving the family devastated.

Betty White's love for animals has sparked a movement and will help animals like Betty be happy, healthy, and loved.
