Happy Tail Jaxon

htjaxon1Hello!

I adopted Jaxon (formerly Cookie) at HHS last March. He was 4 years old and an owner surrender. When I knew a friend was getting me a dog for my birthday I began to look online at local shelters and immediately fell in love with Jaxon. When I initially visited HHS to see him, he was getting neutered. Volunteers told me that he would be at an adoption event that weekend, but I didn't make it. When I went back that following weekend, I didn't see Jaxons bio in the kennel anymore and was heartbroken. After visiting with other dogs, I was so torn and couldn't get Jaxon off my mind. My friend, who was gifting me a dog, mentioned a cute dog that he saw and thought I would like in a nearby kennel but I thought it would only further complicate my decision. As fate would have it, a HHS volunteer was walking Jaxon, and my friend noticed his tag said 'Cookie', I couldn't believe it! Turns out that Jaxon was adopted at the previous event but the adopters never came to pick him up. I knew it was fate and I took him home the same day! Fast forward, almost a year later, and Jaxon has my whole heart. I never knew I could love something so much! I take Jaxon anywhere that I possibly can, the beach, patio happy hours, the lake, road trips back home to New Mexico (he is the best car rider. I cannot thank HHS enough for bringing Jaxon to me! I wish everyone would adopt and especially consider mid-aged and older dogs looking for a second chance!

XOXO,
Katie
