Porter was adopted in 2012 and returned in 2023. He was returned as a diabetic dog with vision impairment, who needed urgent rescue. When I saw Porter's pictures, my heart broke. I tried sending out his plea to countless rescues, but kept getting the same response; that diabetic dogs were incredibly expensive and almost impossible to adopt out. After a week went by, I decided to try and foster Porter. Similar to his senior fur sister, Snowball, after having him home with me for one night, I knew I wasn't going to let him go. Porter is the most calm, gentle, velcro dog I have ever met. Although he is blind, he knows where I am at all times and will lay by me or at my feet. Porter will be living the rest of his days in my home, and he comes to work with Snowball and I. I am so grateful that our paths crossed!
