Keeping Families & Pets Safe

Our hearts go out to the family affected by this devastating tragedy in Baytown. With this heartbreaking loss we want to remind families of the importance of supervised interactions between pets and small children. Even the most well-behaved pets have natural instincts and may react unpredictably to new sights, sounds, and movements.

Here are some important safety tips to help protect both your family and pets:

Supervised Introductions – Always monitor interactions between dogs and babies/childrens. Keep introductions calm and controlled.

Never Leave Them Alone – Even the gentlest dog can react unexpectedly to sudden movements or sounds.

Gradual Acclimation – Let your dog adjust to new scents and sounds before any introductions.

Respect Boundaries – Teach children to respect a dog’s space and watch for signs of stress or discomfort.

Safe Spaces – Provide a quiet space where your dog can relax if they feel overwhelmed. This can include crate training or setting up a designated area in a room or restroom for them to decompress.
